This is a 9* NL TOP TOTAL on the OVER Padres/Dodgers.

The Padres are hungry to snap a sluggish stretch. They've lost seven of their last ten, including two straight to open this series.

First they lost 3-1, then yesterday they fell 5-1.

We have a couple of decent starting pitchers going head-to-head here, but all signs point to these potent offenses finally waking up in our opinions.

Yu Darvish is 7-3 with a 3.26 ERA for the Padres, while Tyler Anderson is 8-1 with a 3.23 ERA for the Dodgers.

It's difficult to find any faults here with either starter obviously, so I'm not going to bother. The overall situation points to more of a slug-fest though after two straight lower-scoring games to open this series, and especially considering that the Padres have seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their last nine in trying to revenge two or more straight losses against an opponent.

The Dodgers own the No. 1 offense in the league, and the Padres are in the Top 10.
