Both teams have been involved in several lower-scoring games of late, but for a number of different reasons we expect Tuesday's contest to fly OVER the number sooner, rather than later.

With yesterday's 7-0 series-opening loss, the Giants have now lost five in a row. And that's significant to note in this case, as San Francisco has seen the total OVER the number in eight of its last 11 after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row, and in seven of its last nine in trying to avenge a shutout loss against an opponent.

Arizona enters having seen the total go UNDER in seven of its last ten and three in a row.

Carlos Rodon (8-5, 2.95 ERA) has been solid for San Francisco, but this is just a case of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time tonight.

And then his counterpart Tyler Gilbert (0-3, 5.34) looks poised for a long night facing this now desperate Giants team.

The overall situation, combined with these numbers/trends, all do indeed point to the OVER as the correct call in this one.
