This is an 8* SLUG-FEST on the OVER Marlins/Cubs.
Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games, but we expect that trend to end this afternoon.
We had a play on the OVER in the Cubs' 4-0 win yesterday, and while that pick unfortunately came up short, we love the way Sunday's contest finally sets up as a slug-fest.
Miami has now seen the total go UNDER the number in five straight, which is significant to note here, as the Marlins have in fact seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Jesus Luzardo gets the nod for the visitors to start and he's 2-4 with a 3.97 ERA. He returned from injury in his last outing to allows 2 runs over 5 innings in his first start since May 10th. He faced the Cubs last August and allowed 5 runs over 5 innings.
Adrian Sampson counters for the home side and he's 0-2 with a 3.74 ERA. He allowed 4 runs over 4 innings in a loss to the Giants most recently.
We have little faith in either starter and predict further regression. The overall situation points to the OVER as the correct call in this one.
