The Arizona Wildcats take on the San Diego State Aztecs in week 1 action.
The Wildcats were just 1-11 last season overall and 1-8 mark in the Pac- 12. Jayden de Laura transferred from Washington State to take over the quarterbacking duties. Jacob Cowing caught 141 passes for 2,600 yards and 13 touchdowns with UTEP and will step into a receiving role. On defense, the strength is the secondary. The San Diego State Aztecs finished last season 12-2 overall, and 7-1 in Mountain West play. Braxton Burmeister comes from Virginia Tech and will look to add life to the passing game. Greg Bell, but Chance Bell as well as Burnmeister will lead the rushing attack. Last season they had one of the best defenses in the country and they should be just as good if not better this season. Arizona is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against the Mountain West and 2-12 ATS in their last 14 games on turf. . San Diego State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against the Pac-12. Both teams have new quarterbacks and the SDSU defense is not one you want to break in a new quarterback against. the Aztecs aren’t flashy offensively and like to control the game on the ground. They are not really explosive offensively. I am looking for a low-scoring game that will stay under the number.
