The #4 ranked Clemson Tigers open their season with in-state rival the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. DJ Uiagalelei is back at quarterback for Clemon but will have to play better than he did last season. He threw for just nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions while completing 56% of his passes. Will Shipley and Kobe Pace return to the backfield, last season they rushed for 1,400 yards and scored 17 touchdowns. Clemson's defense was first in the ACC and 8th overall in the country. They gave up the second-fewest points in the country. GTech is trying to improve its offense by bringing in Chip Long as the new offensive coordinator. They will do it with quarterback Jeff Sims who can be a threat with his arm and legs. Tech's defense lost several top players and will need to get up to speed fast against the Tigers. Georgia Tech is 5-1-1 ATS in the last seven played on a neutral field. Clemson is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 on grass and 0-7 ATS in the last seven played in September.
