The New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans meet in week 1 NFL action. New York Giants finished last season at a disappointing 4-13 overall. The Giants still have faith in Daniel Jones but the question is- for how long? as Tyrod Taylor is a capable backup. Saquon Barkley returns to the backfield but again for how long? as he always seemed to be injured to some extent. They hoped to have improved their defense by drafting Kayvon Thibodeaux. The Tennessee Titans finished last season with a 12-5 record. Ryan Tannehill returns after throwing for 3,734 yards, 21 TDs, and 14 interceptions last season. Derrick Henry rushed for 937 yards and 10 TDs last season but was injured for a lot of the season. They revamped their receivers and only time will tell if that was a good move. The Titans' defense was 2nd in the NFL last season against the run. New York is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games. Tennessee is 1-5 ATS in their last 6-week 1 matchups. The Titans played a lot of low-scoring games last season and with Henry back and the loss of their best two wideouts see some low-scoring games coming this season. The Giants will not be an offensive firepower and with Jones, as the starting quarterback, I don't see a prolific Giant offense in week 1. The Titans will rely on Henry and Tannehill to control the game.
