Point Spread: 2.00 | -110.00 Rebels (UNLV) (Away)
Result: Win
This is a 10* BK on UNLV.
The Rebels are off a nine win season and I think they'll find a way to deliver the goods here in Week 1. Mathew Sluka or Hajj Malik-Williams will eventually become the QB 1, but they have plenty of offensive weapons around them, including one of the best WR units in the nation and a big offensive line that returns four of five starters.
Vegas also has a strong defense led by Jackson Woodward, who had 116 tackles to lead the team last year.
Houston is coming off a four-win season, snapping a three-year bowl streak. Quarterback Donovan Smith returns, but the offensive line has to replace four of five starters.
The Cougars defense was ranked 108th last year and the unit is expected to be a weak point once again this season.
UNLV has covered in 12 straight non-conference road games as well!
Houston has a few big questions and I believe that its getting far too much respect here, despite being at home.
UNLV is not a team to be taken lightly this season and I expect it to find a way to get the job done once it's all said and done.
Good luck, NP
