Parsons' Afternoon Total PUNI$HER (2:10 EST START!)
(MLB) Guardians (CLE) vs. White Sox (CWS),
Total: 8.00 | -115.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 8.00 | -115.00 Over
Result: Win
This is an 8* TOTAL PUNI$HER on the OVER Guardians/White Sox.
Sets up well situationally to be a higher-scoring shootout, rather than a lower-scoring "duel."
Cleveland has now seen the total go UNDER in eight of its last ten, with the other two contests being "pushes." This fact alone has driven this particular O/U line tonight a bit lower than it normally would/should be in my opinion.
Chicago has now seen the total go UNDER in three straight, but that's significant for us to take note of, as Chicago has in fact seen the total eclipse the posted number in four of its last five after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Matthew Boyd is 2-1 with a 2.20 ERA for the Guardians, but regression feels imminent for the veteran. He has been impressive admittedly, but I believe that he's in the wrong place at the wrong time here.
The home side counters with Davis Martin, who is 0-3 with a 3.29 ERA, and who enters off back-to-back quality starts, but like his counterpart today, I'm expecting him to make an "early exit."
The overall situation, combined with the numbers/trends all point to the OVER as the correct call finally for these two teams.
Good luck, NP
