Result: Loss
Total: 199.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* EASTERN CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER between the Orlando Magic and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
LeBron James and Kevin Love will look to extend the Cavs best home start in seven years Monday night with four other key members of the rotation out with injury. Note that Cleveland will of course still be without Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert, who have yet to play a game this year, but Mo Williams is also expected to miss a third-straight game, while center Timofey Mozgov is now also sidelined for two weeks with a strained right shoulder: "No matter who's in the lineup, we need to play Cavs basketball the right way," James assessed last night. "We need to share the ball, we need to move it, play together and be aggressive defensively." Cleveland looked good in beating the Hawks last time out, holding Atlanta so a season-low 37.2 percent shooting, which doesn't bode well for a Magic team which has shot 40.5 percent over its last six games; note that Orlando was 9 for 31 from 3-point range and had a season-low eight free-throw attempts in Saturday's 97-91 home loss to the Kings. No big surprise to learn that the Cavs have dominated this series, winning ten in a row by averaging 107.1 points, but note that Orlando has in fact been extremely good on the defensive end of the floor for a while now, holding seven of its last eight opponents under 100 points in regulation, while also limiting them to 42.0 percent shooting overall this season. And note that the Magic have seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of their last 12 off an upset loss as a favorite and in 17 of their last 26 as a road dog of 6.5 to nine points, while the Cavs have seen the total stay below the posted number in ten of their last 17 after three or more consecutive OVERS and in 50 of their last 92 vs. teams with losing records. Play on the UNDER.
