When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. Neither team has been playing to many high-scoring affairs of late, but we feel that the conditions are now finally right for a bit of a shootout. Both teams come in slumping. Portland has only two victories in the past three weeks and each has come against the league's two Los Angeles based teams. The Blazers come in off a 93-88 setback to Chicago on Tuesday, shooting a season low 35.2 percent in the process. When they beat the Lakers last week though, the Blazers shot 49.4 percent from the floor, Damian Lillard notched 30 points and dished out a career-high 13 assists. LA looks to bounce back off a brutal 111-77 setback at Golden State on Tuesday, Kobe Bryant was held to four points while missing 13 of his 14 shots in his team's sixth straight road loss. There's plenty of motivation for both of these struggling clubs today obviously and we're expecting that fact to translate into production on the court. And note that LA has seen the total go OVER the number in ten of its last 18 after scoring 85 points or less and in seven of its last 11 when playing with three or more days rest. And note that Portland has seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 14 when playing with three or more days rest and in 34 of its last 61 following a non-conference contest.
