This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the OVER between the Minnesota Wild and the Colorado Avalanche.
When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for this total to eclipse the posted number. Minnesota has won three straight, most recently a 3-0 win over the Avs on Saturday, amazingly extending its shutout run to 154:39. Colorado has managed just four goals over its last three games and just eight in losing six of its last seven to Minnesota since the start of last season. The Wild outshot the Avs 44-20 on Saturday. Remember though, the first time these teams played against each other on October 8th, Minnesota would win a wild 5-4 shootout and suffice it to say, after so many low-scoring affairs coming into this one, we're expecting another barn-burner tonight. We love going against lop-sided numbers or trends as we feel that they always have a way of naturally correcting themselves over the short, the mid and the long-term. And from an O/U trend based stand point, they don't get much better than this as Minnesota has seen the total go OVER the number in two of three this year after shutting out its opponent in its previous game, while Colorado has seen the total sail above the posted number in five of seven this season after playing three consecutive road games and in both contests it's played this year after playing to three or more consecutive UNDERs. Play on the OVER.
