This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the OVER between the LA Kings and the Ottawa Senators.
When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for this total to eclipse the posted number as the game comes down the stretch. LA is atop the Pacific division thanks in large part to its fantastic play on the road, going 8-3-2 away from friendly confines thus far. Most recently though the Kings lost 2-1 in OT at Buffalo on Saturday. The setback was one night after a 3-2 shootout victory over Pittsburgh. Ottawa beat LA 1-0 on February 26th, ending the Kings' four game win streak in the series and it will be plenty hungry to improve tonight after going 1-3-0 on a road trip which concluded in a listless 3-1 setback to Montreal on Saturday. Goaltender Craig Anderson was pulled early in the second after allowing three goals on 31 shots; note that Anderson has started 14 straight, going 1-5-2 with a 2.59 GAA over that stretch. He's also 1-7-4 with a 3.82 GAA in his career vs. the Kings. LA's Jonathon Quick has enjoyed a lot of success against the Sens in the past, but note that the Kings have in fact seen the total go OVER the number in 18 of their last 26 after playing three consecutive road games, while Ottawa has seen the total sail above the posted number in seven of ten non-conference games this season and in five of six after scoring one goal or less in its previous contest. A great situation, backed by some strong trends, all signs do indeed point to the OVER as the savvy move in this contest.
