ROGERS' 10* WORLD SERIES GAME OF THE YEAR! 5-2 L7 MLB!
(MLB) Philadelphia vs. Houston,
Money Line: -150.00 Houston (Home)
Result: Win
Game Six features a rematch of Game Two starters, Wheeler and Valdez. Wheeler was lights out early in the postseason, but struggled against the Astros in his last start, experiencing a much remarked-on loss of velocity. He was not as good on the road in the regular season, and was hit very hard by Houston's big three batters last time out.
Astros left-hander Valdez has done everything asked of him to date, pitching into the 7th and holding the Phillies to just 1 run with 9 strikeouts. That is now four straight games with 2 runs or less allowed, and you can throw in a shutout vs. the Phillies down the stretch as well.
The Astros are a formidable team at home and their bullpen just doesn't break down. I can't see Wheeler pitching for length on Saturday. The Phillies' best relievers were used extensively in Game Five. While both teams have a days' rest, the Astros still have a huge edge in relief pitching. The Astros are now the confident ones, winning two straight on the road, and playing against a pitcher they have had recent success with. I expect a gutsy game from Wheeler and the Phillies, but it will be skill and experience over emotion again. Take the Astros to finish the Phillies off on Saturday.
