San Diego Padres -1.50
(MLB) San Diego vs. Washington,
Point Spread: -1.50 | -155.00 San Diego (Away)
Result: Win
I will be riding with the San Diego Padres (-1.5) in this matchup with the Nationals. I am expecting the Padres to finish this series strong, as the Nationals have struggled since the trade deadline. The Padres will also have Blake Snell on the mound, as it looks like he has turned a corner this season. He struggled in his first few starts, but he has had it rolling over his past four. He is (3-1) in his last four and he completely shut down the Giants in his last start, even though he was given the loss. He pitched for 5.2 innings, but only gave up one earned run. The Padres ended up losing 1-0, as they didn’t give him much run support. Luckily, they have been scorching hot at the plate in this series. They scored 10 runs in the first game, as they were easily reaching base safely and driving in men when they were in scoring position. The Nationals are (2-8) in their last 10 and I have zero confidence in their starter in this one. They will start Paolo Espino on the mound, as he is (0-4) with a 4.04 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. He has been getting lit up on the mound at home all season, as he is (0-2) with a 4.15 ERA. The Padres are scoring 7.82 runs per game in their last 10 against RHP and they are hitting .292 as a team. They will consistently reach base throughout this game, as they will give themselves multiple chances to score. San Diego is the better team, and they will show that in this one. Expect them to finish the series strong, as they will cover the run line spread (-1.5) in this one.
