San Diego Padres -127
(MLB) San Diego vs. Miami,
Money Line: -127.00 San Diego (Away)
Result: Loss
I will be riding with the Padres with my free pick today. They are the better team, and they have a chance to put up some runs against one of the best pitchers in the league. I also love the starting pitcher for San Diego, as I see the marlins struggling to score throughout this game. The Marlins will have Sandy Alcantara on the mound, as he has been solid this season. But the Padres have been seeing the ball great against RHP in their last 10. They are hitting .286 as a team and scoring 7.13 runs per game. Alcantara has now lost two of his last four starts, as teams are showing that he is beatable. The Phillies and the Mets got to him early, as he has only beaten the Reds and the Pirates since the break. San Diego is scoring the 14th most runs per game, and they looked great at the dish against the Nationals in their last series. They will keep it rolling in this one and pick up the W on the road. The Padres will only need a few runs to win this game, as well. The Marlins have been horrible at the plate, as they are scoring the 27th least amount of runs per game and they are only hitting .235 as a team. Miami has also struggled to score against RHP in their last 10, as they are only averaging 2.43 runs per game. Joe Musgrove is starting on the mound for the Padres, as I see him pitching deep into this game. He is (8-5) with a 2.91 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. The Marlins won’t consistently reach base and they won’t give themselves enough chances to score throughout this game. Take the Padres and trust Musgrove in this one.
