New York batters struck out 13 times, and the team's only runs came on balls that did not leave the infield. Jameson Taillon (11-3, 3.95), who leads the Yankees in wins, gets the call on Friday. The right-hander took the loss in his latest outing; he allowed three runs on six hits in seven innings in a 3-0 defeat at Boston on Sunday. Taillon is 4-3 with a 3.51 ERA in eight career starts against the Blue Jays, including 3-1 with a 2.05 ERA in four starts this year. Toronto hands the ball to Kevin Gausman (8-9, 3.16 ERA). The right-hander is 3-6 with a 3.81 ERA over 12 starts since the beginning of June. Gausman followed consecutive scoreless outings by getting tagged for five runs and nine hits in 4 2/3 innings during a 7-2 loss to the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday.
