This two-week stretch for the Mets was going to be the critical one that determined their season and it’s been all downhill so far as they are freefalling.
New York is 2-8 in that stretch heading into this three-game series with the Giants and it’s been tough for them to get anything going in any facet of the game. Walker started the year strong but has fallen apart in the second half of the season. Since the All-Star break, he is 0-5 with a 7.49 ERA, a 1.574 WHIP, 15 walks, 25 strikeouts and 11 homers over 33.2 innings in seven starts. Coupled with the Mets’ averaging only 3.48 runs per game in the month of August entering Tuesday and it’s hard to have much faith in them right now. Look for the Giants to earn the road victory as we are backing the SF GIANTS on Wednesday night!
