Appalachian State was a 5.5 point favorite when this line opened up, and I believe had it not been for the fourth-quarter collapse by the Thundering Herd against East Carolina, this line would be a lot smaller. Marshall has overall played well for 11 out of 12 quarters this season and will be anxious to redeem themselves after letting Saturday's game get away from them. Marshall has the firepower to challenge them with a balanced offense.

I expect to see a good game here between two mid-majors playing on ESPN under the lights. Even with the home-field advantage, I think 7 points is way too many to give either side and will take Marshall to cover.
