LSU is the stronger team on paper and still has the edge in this matchup. Iowa State's strength is their defense but LSU's defense has actually outperformed them this year. It will also be tough for Iowa St since LSU has a new coach and might run some new sets they aren't seeing on film. Iowa State is also one of the coldest teams in the tournament. The Cyclones are averaging under 50 points per game in the month of March. Two of their last three games have finished with final team scores of 36 and 41 points. They have a freshman point guard making his first ever tournament start and has been a turnover machine of late LSU healthy, senior point guard Xavier Pinson good to go and an athletic advantage comparing the rosters.
