10* Tournament Game of the Week
(NCAAB) Houston vs. Villanova,
Point Spread: -2.50 | -110.00 Houston (Away)
Result: Loss
Houston's suffocating defense kept the Arizona offense in check, and now the Cougars look to shut down Villanova's 3-point attack. VIL likes to take advantage of 1 on 1 matchups, but the Cougar defense is just too big and quick. Michigan also missed FT's, layups and shot poorly allowing VIL to win on Thursday. Houston benefits from playing in The Alamodome, three hours from campus so they should have plenty of fan support. The Cougars have won 12 of their last 13 games. They have done a good job offensively, scoring more than 75 points per game while making 47 percent of their shots. They are one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country and they did a great job on the offensive glass in their last three games, grabbing more than 12 offensive boards per game, which will give them a lot of second-chance opportunities. When VIL faced St. John's full-court press, the Wildcats turned it over 13 times and I like the Houston Cougars to make it 13-1 their last 14 and get to their second straight Final Four.
