Colorado cashed as big favs when they hosted the Sharks on Thursday night. The game was tied 2-2 halfway through the third period when Mikko Rantanen scored to make it 3-2 and Andre Burakovsky added another goal three minutes later. Pavel Francouz was between the pipes in the win and he stopped 25 out of the 27 shots that he faced.

The Penguins have been inconsistent and have only won two out of their last five games overall and have also dropped two out of their last three road bouts. The Avalanche are the best home team in the NHL where they have won 27 of their 34 games.

Furthermore, the Penguins have allowed 17 goals in their last five games which is not ideal against the Avs’ potent offense. Colorado is sporting a 7-1-1 record in their last nine games and defensively they have been stellar, conceding three or fewer goals in ten consecutive games.
