The Giants came out of the All-Star break with a thud as they were swept in a four-game set in Chavez Ravine by the Dodgers. That dropped San Francisco two games behind the Cardinals for the third and final wild-card spot in the National League. They have an edge on the mound for this contest as Jakob Junis has been fairly solid in his first year in the city by the bay. He's 4-1 with a 3.06 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP and 42 strikeouts over 50 innings of work. Meanwhile, Arizona missed a chance at a sweep of Washington at home as their bullpen imploded, giving up three runs to turn a 3-1 lead into a 4-3 loss. Tyler Gilbert is 0-3 with a 5.34 ERA, a 1.253 WHIP and has given up seven homers in 30.1 innings, helping him to post a 5.92 FIP ERA. This is a must-win series for the Giants with the trade deadline looming next week. Give San Francisco the upper hand in this one as they bounce back from the sweep by the Dodgers.
