San Diego Padres -155
(MLB) San Diego vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -155.00 San Diego (Away)
Result: Loss
San Diego was in the Big Apple on Sunday Night Baseball as they went for the sweep of the Mets. While a lot of times, traveling after a Sunday night game to play on Monday can be a fade situation but facing a Tigers' team that struggles to do much offensively should mitigate those issues. Detroit is last in the majors in runs per game (3.15) and 27th in team batting average (.228) on the season. The Tigers hit left-handed pitching pretty well but Sean Manaea has been solid against the Tigers in four career starts. He is 3-1 with a 2.88 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, five walks and 23 strikeouts over 25 innings of work. The Padres are holding the second wild-card spot in the National League and they have been extremely proficient offensively as the visiting team. San Diego is third in the majors on the road with an average of 5.02 runs per game. Drew Hutchison has had control issues and is 1-4 with a 4.46 ERA over 40.1 innings on the year. After beating Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt in the first two games with the Mets, Hutchison won't strike fear in the hearts of the Friars. Take the Padres on the road.
