Miami Marlins +110
(MLB) NY Mets vs. Miami,
Money Line: 110.00 Miami (Home)
Result: Loss
We've talked about this before. The Marlins are still below .500 on the season though they rallied Thursday to down the Reds on the road, earning a split of their four-game series. Now, Miami gets to send their ace to the mound in Sandy Alcantara, at home no less. Alcantara has been stellar at LoanDepot Park this season, going 5-3 with a 1.66 ERA, a 0.79 WHIP, 13 walks and 69 strikeouts over 76 innings of work this season. Meanwhile, as well as the Mets have played this season, the fact remains that Chris Bassitt has hit the skids since the beginning of June. In that stretch, which covers eight starts, he is 3-5 with a 3.78 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP, nine walks and 55 strikeouts over 50 innings. Bassitt split back-to-back starts against the Marlins in June, losing at home June 19 but winning on the road June 25. The loss at home came to Alcantara, who isn't intimidated by the Mets' lineup. Give the advantage to the hosts in this contest behind their ace.
