Best Bet - St. Louis Cardinals -175
(MLB) St. Louis vs. Washington,
Money Line: -175.00 St. Louis (Away)
Result: Win
The Cardinals have been linked to Juan Soto, who they'll get to look at up close and personal this weekend. Of course, the Redbirds need some starting pitching with Jack Flaherty, Steven Matz and Dakota Hudson all on the shelf. On the plus side, St. Louis sends Miles Mikolas to the hill, one of their two proven arms still standing. He deserves better than a 7-8 record when you look at his peripherals this season. Mikolas owns a 2.87 ERA, a 0.989 WHIP, 25 walks and 96 strikeouts over 125.1 innings. The Cardinals have scored three runs or less in half of his 20 starts this season, including four outings where they've put up nothing. On the plus side, St. Louis has scored five or more in his other 10 starts, including at least nine runs in five starts. Anibal Sanchez has a 6.30 ERA over his first two starts covering 10 innings and the Nationals are going nowhere. At this point, St. Louis needs wins and this is as good a place to get one.
