Toronto Blue Jays -145
(MLB) Toronto vs. Tampa Bay,
Money Line: -145.00 Toronto (Away)
Result: Win
We've seen how Tampa Bay's inability to generate consistent offense has burned them time and again this season. Shane McClanahan stumbled Sunday and the Rays couldn't bail him out. Sure, the deal for David Peralta could help with some of the problems but this team is gutted by injuries. Trying to find power in that lineup is nearly impossible. The team has only two guys with at least 10 homers on the season and one of those is part-time player Isaac Paredes, who has a team-leading 14 blasts. With a punch and Judy lineup, it's tough to generate runs, which puts pressure on the pitching staff. Meanwhile, Toronto is second in the AL in runs scored (495) and third in homers (132) on the season. They've gone 11-3 since firing Charlie Montoyo and putting John Schneider in the interim role. Kevin Gausman struggled in his last outing against the Cardinals but had five straight starts where he had allowed three runs or less. He's been snakebit as he is 7-8 with a 3.30 ERA but his FIP ERA is only 2.07 this season. Tampa Bay sputters at the plate and Toronto picks up the road win.
