Atlanta Braves +100
(MLB) Atlanta vs. NY Mets,
Money Line: 100.00 Atlanta (Away)
Result: Loss
The top two teams in the NL East open up a set here and it's going to be an interesting clash to say the least. We've got a solid pitching matchup in Kyle Wright against Carlos Carrasco as the Braves take on the Mets. Wright has been on fire since June 1, going 9-1 with a 3.13 ERA with 18 walks and 59 strikeouts over 69 innings in 11 starts during that stretch. He's gone at least six innings in nine of them and was likely en route to doing that a 10th time only to have a rain delay end his start against the Cardinals on July 4 after four frames. The Braves made some moves to bolster their lineup and picked up a couple of arms to help their pitching staff at the deadline. We saw the Mets struggle to score with Jacob deGrom on the mound Tuesday and they gave up five in the ninth Wednesday to turn a 9-0 game into a 9-5 final so there are things to work out in the bullpen. I like Wright a little more than Carrasco here and that gives the Braves the nod.
