We saw Cole Ragans make his major league debut Thursday night for the Rangers and he acquitted himself well, allowing just one unearned run in five innings of work. In this one, we don't have that kind of pitcher on the hill. The White Sox send their ace to the mound as Dylan Cease takes the hill. He's won four straight starts coming into this contest and six of his last seven coming into this one. In that stretch, he has posted a measly 0.84 ERA, a 0.984 WHIP, 14 walks and 53 strikeouts over 42.2 innings. Meanwhile, Glenn Otto gets the ball for the Rangers and, in that same stretch since June 26, is 0-5 with a 7.11 ERA, a 1.737 WHIP, 15 walks and 24 strikeouts over 31.2 innings in his last seven starts. Perhaps more damning is the fact that the Rangers have dropped all seven of those outings. Chicago is getting healthy, which bolsters their lineup. Couple that with the dominance of Cease and Otto's struggles: it all adds up to a White Sox triumph.
