Seattle Mariners -1.5 (+115)
(MLB) LA Angels vs. Seattle,
Point Spread: -1.50 | 115.00 Seattle (Home)
Result: Loss
The Angels tied a dubious record on Thursday as they clubbed seven homers against the A's. All of them were solo shots and the Angels fell 8-7 in the contest. Now they have to go on the road and contend with a Seattle team that is fighting to stay on the right side of the playoff cut line. Patrick Sandoval has pitched okay but his last win was back on May 22. Since then, he has made 10 starts, going 0-6 with a 5.11 ERA, a 1.784 WHIP, 24 walks and 59 strikeouts over 49.1 innings of work. The Angels have dropped nine of those 10 starts. Meanwhile, Seattle sends Robbie Ray to the hill in this contest looking to turn things around. He was thrashed in each of his last two starts, giving up 10 runs on 15 hits with four walks and four strikeouts over 5.2 innings of work combined. Both those outings came against Houston though and the Astros are a much better team than the Angels. Los Angeles is just 25th in runs per game at 3.87 and they are 26th on the road with 3.61 runs per game. You have to think Ray bounces back here and the Mariners come up with the home victory.
