Result: Win
If we needed a reminder of just how dangerous this Dodgers team is, we got it over the weekend. Los Angeles welcomed San Diego to town over the weekend after the Padres acquired Juan Soto, Josh Bell and Josh Hader at the trade deadline. With all the hullabaloo surrounding the Padres and their big acquisitions, Los Angeles swept the series, outscoring San Diego 20-4 in the three games, to reassert their dominance. While the Twins lead the AL Central race, the fact that they have been unable to run away while the Guardians and White Sox sputtered through the first four months of the season is concerning. Minnesota's starting rotation has a 6.09 ERA as a group since the beginning of July. While Joe Ryan is the best of the group, a 4.55 ERA mark in that stretch isn't overwhelming. Meanwhile, Julio Urias has gone 8-0 with a 2.28 ERA, a 0.955 WHIP, nine walks and 53 strikeouts over 51.1 innings in his last nine starts. The Dodgers are dominant at home and they get a struggling Twins team here. Urias rings up another win for the hosts.
