The Giants still have flickering hopes for the postseason though they entered Tuesday night five games behind the Padres for the final wild card spot int the NL. They have to take advantage of opportunities against subpar teams and put them in the win column. We saw the Giants beat up on Arizona Monday night and they are in good shape to pull that off here. Carlos Rodon has righted himself again after struggling coming out of the All-Star break. He's been lights out in his last three starts, going 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA, a 0.709 WHIP, no walks and 20 strikeouts over 18.1 innings of work. Meanwhile, Arizona is 25th in the league by allowing 4.93 runs per game on the road and they send Zach Davies to the hill here. Davies has been mediocre in three starts since coming off the IL, where he spent about five weeks. In three starts, he has no record while posting a 5.25 ERA, a 6.87 FIP ERA, a 1.333 WHIP, six walks and six strikeouts over 12 innings. The Diamondbacks can't do much against Rodon and the Giants knock around Davies for the win.
