Kansas City has really struggled offensively over the past week. The Royals have scored a total of three runs in their last four games combined after losing 7-1 to Tampa Bay on the road Thursday night. Kansas City did manage to put a run on the board, so that could be construed as improvement after being blanked in back-to-back games by the Twins. Now the Royals have to contend with Shane McClanahan, who struggled in back-to-back starts before throwing six innings and allowing two runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts as the Rays rolled to an 8-2 win in his last start. Brady Singer has been good of late for the Royals, including blanking the Dodgers over six innings in his last start. The problem for him is that the Royals don't score enough to keep them in it. Tampa Bay scored seven runs in back-to-back games and they support McClanahan to earn the victory.
