Chicago had momentum earlier in the week but fell at home to Houston Wednesday and Thursday, with the latter defeat coming by the narrow margin of 21-5. Lucas Giolito lasted just three innings, prompting Tony La Russa to have to use his bullpen for more than he would have liked. Cleveland had Thursday off after rallying to win 8-4 Wednesday to split a four-game set with the Tigers. The pitching matchup favors Cleveland as Triston McKenzie has been solid all season despite an 8-9 record. Meanwhile, Lance Lynn has been absolutely brutal on the road with an ERA north of seven, not to mention his overall ERA of 5.62 this year. Cleveland has won eight of the 13 meetings this season and own the AL Central top spot. Look for the Guardians to take advantage of Lynn's issues, this one ends up going to the hosts.
