(MLB) LA Angels vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -180.00 LA Angels (Away)
Result: Loss
We haven't seen a ton of runs between the teams in this series in the first two games. Friday's opener was a 1-0 game in favor of the Angels while Saturday saw the Tigers claw out a 4-3 triumph to set up the rubber game. The problem for Detroit here is the pitching matchup. Los Angeles sends Shohei Ohtani to the hill for this contest. He's 7-3 in his last 11 starts with a 1.81 ERA, 17 walks and 100 strikeouts over 69.2 innings over that span. Six of the 16 runs he's allowed in that stretch came in a loss to the Braves July 22. Meanwhile, the Tigers are weak offensively and they are pitching Eduardo Rodriguez, whose last major league appearance lasted only one-third of an inning against Tampa Bay back on May 18. That's right, he hasn't pitched in the majors in three months as he left the team for personal reasons. Detroit's bullpen isn't capable of picking up the slack and their bats are going to struggle against Ohtani. The Angels win the rubber game and take the series.
