Seattle Mariners -220
(MLB) Seattle vs. Oakland,
Money Line: -220.00 Seattle (Away)
Result: Loss
The Mariners were rolling, winning four straight and seven of nine, including a 10-2 romp Friday night in the opener, but were upended 4-3 in 10 innings Saturday night by the A's on a defensive miscue by reliever Diego Castillo. In the rubber game, the Mariners send Luis Castillo to the hill looking to secure the series win. Castillo is 1-0 with a 2.18 ERA a 0.968 WHIP, six walks and 24 strikeouts over 20.2 innings in three starts since being acquired from Cincinnati ahead of the trade deadline. While Oakland counters with JP Sears, who is 4-0 with a 1.95 ERA, a 0.897 WHIP, eight walks and 20 strikeouts over 32.1 innings in nine appearances, four starts, split between the Yankees and A's, the fact remains that Oakland's offense is putrid. The A's average just 2.80 runs per game at the RingCentral Coliseum this season and it's not going to be easy against Castillo. Look for the Mariners to get to Sears and/or the Oakland bullpen to get the win in the rubber game.
