Philadelphia is going to be hungry to bounce back after Sunday's meltdown. The Phillies were up 4-0 after one inning against the Mets and ended up losing 10-9 in a game where New York threw a rookie in Jose Butto making his big league debut. Philadelphia just met the Reds last week at the Great American Ball Park, taking two of three, including a 4-3 win when Syndergaard started last Monday. In that outing, he faced off with Mike Minor but in this one the Reds turn to Luis Cessa as their "starting pitcher." He gets the role because T.J. Zeuch was optioned down to Triple-A after giving up 12 runs on 17 hits in eight innings over two starts. Cessa hasn't thrown more than two innings in a game this season with that coming in that August 15 game against the Phillies. That means the Phillies will get plenty of hacks against a bad Reds bullpen and that should carry them to a multiple-run margin of victory.
