San Francisco Giants -225
(MLB) San Francisco vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -225.00 San Francisco (Away)
Result: Win
Carlos Rodon has gotten back on track since his bat kicking incident in late July. He's allowed just four runs on 15 hits with two walks and 31 strikeouts over 24.1 innings in his last four starts. More importantly, the Giants are 3-1 in those outings: they should be 4-0 except for Dominic Leone blowing his last start by giving up a pair of runs in the eighth to send San Francisco to a 3-2 loss. The Giants get to face a Detroit lineup that is last in the majors with 3.19 runs per game on the season. Drew Hutchinson has been decent of late, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on 25 hits with eight walks and 13 strikeouts over 21.1 innings of work in his last four starts. Still, those metrics show that he's had some good fortune as opposed to solid pitching and even with that good luck, the Tigers have dropped all four of those outings. Detroit is 1-6 in his last seven starts coming into this one and it's hard to see them denting Rodon, even with their .260 team mark against left-handed pitchers. Back the Giants here.
