Let's face it, the Angels have been brutal of late. They were blanked by the Tigers Sunday, scored one run on Monday and followed that up with an 11-1 pasting at the hands of Corey Kluber and the Rays on Tuesday. Now, Los Angeles has to face Shane McClanahan, who was an early AL Cy Young candidate before fading in July. He's bounced back with two straight quality starts, allowing two runs in six innings against Baltimore and two runs in seven frames against Kansas City. The Angels counter with Mike Mayers, who has no wins and a 5.22 ERA on the year. He threw a season-high 5.1 innings in relief in his last outing and it's hard seeing him keeping the visitors in the game. McClanahan shuts down Los Angeles and the Rays get the win.
