Atlanta Braves -1.5 (-140)
(MLB) Atlanta vs. Pittsburgh,
Point Spread: -1.50 | -140.00 Atlanta (Away)
Result: Win
We went this route on Tuesday and it paid dividends as Atlanta shook off a slow start with a five-run fifth en route to a 6-1 triumph. The Braves have sliced into the Mets' NL East lead, closing to within two games with the victory and the Mets' loss Tuesday night. Kyle Wright has been rolling for Atlanta with eight wins in his last 10 starts. Going back to the beginning of June, he has gone 11-2 over 14 starts with a 3.41 ERA, 22 walks and 75 strikeouts over 87 innings of work. Mitch Keller started the second half strong enough but he's regressed in his last couple of outings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits iwth four walks and four strikeouts over 7.1 innings in his last two starts. That kind of work won't get it done, especially against a hungry Atlanta team that is trying to get even closer in the NL East race. Give the edge to the Braves as Wright ties Justin Verlander with his 16th win of the year.
