Corbin Burnes struggled in his last start against the Pirates, giving up five runs on eight hits with one walk and five strikeouts over six innings. With that said, he's still 9-6 with a 2.84 ERA and leads the NL with 195 punchouts on the season. Madison Bumgarner has been a shell of the guy that helped the Giants to three World Series rings in five years back between 2010-2014. People see the name Bumgarner and think he's still that guy. I have news for you...he isn't. Bumgarner hasn't won more than nine games in a season since 2016. He's just 6-13 with a 4.87 ERA this season: that number rockets to 8.63 over his last six starts. He's given up at least five runs in each of those last six outings with opposing hitters posting a .369/.416/.617 slash line over that span. There's no reason to back Arizona, even against a Milwaukee team that has had their problems at the plate this season. Back Burnes to do his job and the Brew Crew's bats to put the runs on the board in order to put this one in the win column.
