Friday's game was a prime example of why the Cardinals are sound bets against the Cubs. It was a 2-0 game after five innings when Adrian Sampson left but when the dust settled and the smoke cleared, the final was 8-0 in favor of St. Louis. Drew Smyly will keep the Cubs in it as he duels with Adam Wainwright but look at Smyly's last start to see how things will unfold. Smyly threw six scoreless frames against the Brewers and left with the game deadlocked at zero. Milwaukee scored seven times in the seventh inning against the bullpen and went on to win by that score. Look for something similar here as it's a close game before the Redbirds batter the Cubs' relief corps to win going away.
