Chicago has climbed back to a game over .500 and stand two games behind the Guardians for the top spot in the AL Central. This is a prime chance for them to get on a roll as they open a four-game set with the A's. Dylan Cease has a chance to make inroads for the Cy Young award with Justin Verlander on the shelf. He just fell short of a no-hitter in his last start, throwing 8.2 no-hit frames before giving up a hit while striking out seven in a 13-0 win. On the season, Cease is 13-6 with a 2.13 ERA with 64 walks and 197 strikeouts over 156 innings this season. He's given up four hits or less in six of his last seven starts and hasn't given up more than six hits since July 24. Oakland, even with their recent offensive production, still are weak offensively, especially at the RingCentral Coliseum. Cease has electric stuff and with his team still fighting in the playoff picture, should pitch his team to victory with another stellar outing.
