Philadelphia Phillies -120
(MLB) Atlanta vs. Philadelphia,
Money Line: -120.00 Philadelphia (Home)
Result: Loss
Two of the teams chasing the Mets for the top spot in the NL East do battle here in the City of Brotherly Love. The Phillies took a blow when Bryce Harper had his thumb broken Sunday on a 97 mph fastball from Blake Snell but still has plenty of pop in the lineup. Atlanta is dealing with injury issues of their own as Ronald Acuna Jr. couldn't put pressure on his foot after fouling a ball off it over the weekend. The Braves have cooled considerably since their 14-game win streak ended, going 5-5 in their last 10 games. Charlie Morton is only 2-3 with a 5.63 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP while allowing a .368 on-base percentage on the road this season. Zack Wheeler hasn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his last 10 starts and has been terrific at Citizens Bank Park, posting a 4-2 mark with a 1.49 ERA, a 0.85 WHIP and 48 strikeouts over 42.1 innings in seven starts. Philadelphia has the edge on the mound and their lineup does enough against Morton to carry them to a victory.
