Rutgers Scarlet Knights +3 (-110)
(NCAAF) Nebraska vs. Rutgers,
Point Spread: 3.00 | -110.00 Rutgers (Home)
Result: Win
Nebraska may have gotten back in the win column by beating Indiana last week but they have to go on the road for the first time this season here. While you may look at Rutgers and see that they are 0-2 in the Big Ten having scored only 20 points, you might write them off. However, a closer look shows Greg Schiano's team faced off with Iowa and Ohio State, a pair of extremely stingy defenses that are 3rd and 17th, respectively, in scoring defense. They now get to face a Cornhuskers team that is 107th in scoring defense (32.6 ppg), tied for 111th in pass defense (269 ypg) and 120th in rush defense (200.2 ypg) this season. If there's a chance for the Scarlet Knights to get going and put points on the board, this is it. After all, Evan Simon torched Iowa's defense for 300 yards through the air a couple of weeks ago. Nebraska is leaky defensively and Rutgers plays decent football at home. Take the points and the Scarlet Knights.
