Result: Win
It's been a wild series between the top two teams in the AL Central this week. The Guardians rallied late to win the opening game of Tuesday's doubleheader 3-2 before getting waxed 6-0 in the nightcap Tuesday night. Wednesday, we saw the game go to extra innings and it seemed over when the Twins scored three in the top of the 10th but Cleveland roared back with a four-spot, capped by Josh Naylor's walk-off two-run homer for a 7-6 Cleveland triumph. Now, there's a quick turnaround for the series finale Thursday afternoon and the Guardians have momentum on their side. In addition, they have the better pitcher on the mound. Sure, Chris Archer has allowed two runs or less in seven of his last eight starts but that comes with a caveat. He hasn't gone deeper than five frames in any of his last 10 starts. The Twins' bullpen is worn out after having Tuesday's doubleheader, then using five relievers in Wednesday's loss. Meanwhile, the Guardians got eight innings from Cal Quantrill, allowing them to use Emmanuel Clase in the the ninth and Eli Morgan in the 10th. Bieber has seven quality starts in his last eight outings with the lone miss in that stretch on account of a rain delay that limited him to 4.1 innings. He shuts the Twins down and the bats ride the lightning to a victory on getaway day.
