Kansas City Royals -109
(MLB) Kansas City vs. Detroit,
Money Line: -109.00 Kansas City (Away)
Result: Loss
This might be the lone time you see a team like the Royals ever pop up on here. As my esteemed co-host Scott Steehn would tell you, he tends to make a living off fading the hometown team. I've actually had decent luck with Kansas City: in fact, I had them at plus money to win Friday night on our show Just Parlays and they picked up a 3-1 victory. That game underscored what has been a major issue for the Tigers all season: they simply don't put runs on the board. Detroit is dead last in the majors with an average of three runs per game on the year. That's been a major issue when Brieske pitches as well. The Tigers have scored a total of 35 runs in his 12 starts but 19 of them came in three games. They've put up two or less in six of his 12 outings and that simply doesn't get it done. Kris Bubic, for all his struggles this season, is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA, a 1.438 WHIP, 19 walks and 28 strikeouts over 32 innings in six career appearances, five starts, against the Tigers. It's tough to have faith in him but the Tigers are anemic offensively. Kansas City's youth movement carries the day and gives the Royals the win here.
