Point Spread: -1.50 | -130.00 Houston (Home)
Result: Loss
Houston was rolling along over the past week to 10 days despite having their starts and stops when it came to putting runs on the board. They seem to have found what ailed their bats in the first two games of this series with the Royals. Houston piled up seven runs in the opening game of the set Monday afternoon and bettered that mark in Tuesday's contest. The Astros had to come from behind in both games but may not have that issue in this contest. Houston rolls with Cristian Javier in this one and there may not be a hotter pitcher in the league right now. He threw seven no-hit innings and struck out 13 Yankees as part of a combined no-hitter June 25. Javier followed that up with seven innings of one run, one hit ball while whiffing a career-best 14 against the Angels Friday. While Brad Keller has turned in scoreless outings in two of his last three starts, the numbers outside of those are galling. In the other eight starts that help comprise his last 10 outings, he had allowed at least three runs in each of them and at least four in six of those tilts. With Houston's bats warmed up, Keller sputtering and the Royals' bullpen posting a 4.72 ERA and a 1.481 WHIP entering Tuesday night, it's tough to have faith in the visitors. Javier keeps up his torrid run and the Astros get the win here.
