Money Line: -140.00 Nationals (WAS) (Home)
Result: Loss
The Washington Nationals are in a great spot heading into this Spring Training matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals. Washington has been playing solid baseball, sitting at 11-10 this spring, and coming off a strong 11-5 win over the Rays. Their offence has been clicking, and with home field advantage at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, they should be in control. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have been struggling to find any consistency, falling to 9-12 and recently getting roughed up in a 5-11 loss to the Marlins. Their pitching staff has had a hard time keeping runs off the board, giving up 5+ runs in five of their last seven games, which is a major concern against a Nationals team that has been swinging the bats well all spring.
Another big factor? St. Louis has been brutal on the road. They’ve won just 2 of their last 10 away games, and now they have to face a Washington team that has looked much more competitive and steady throughout camp. The Nationals have done a better job of limiting damage on the mound and cashing in on scoring opportunities, and with the Cardinals struggling in both of those areas, this is a prime spot for Washington to take care of business.
Nationals keep rolling! lock in the moneyline and cash out!
