Arizona won 85 games last year and it made some important moves in the offseason which should see it improve its chances in 2020.

Starling Marte and Kole Clhoun to the outfield, while also grabbing veteran hurler Madison Bumgarner from the Giants. Bumgarner (13-10, 3.40 ERA lifetime vs. the Friars) was 9-9 with a 3.90 ERA last year.

Bumgarner is obviously very familiar with this park as well.

The Padres were last in the NL West last year. Trent Grisham, Tommy Pham and Jurickson Profar are the new sluggers in the lineup.

Chris Paddack is 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA in one start vs. the D-Backs, but clearly the sample size is too small here to truly get a read on this matchup.

Arizona is 16-5 in its last 21 vs. the NL West, while the Padres are just 1-6 in their last seven home games.
