(MLB) San Francisco vs. Houston,
Total: 9.00 | 104.00 Under
Result: Loss
So for this particular play I'm steering away from a side and concentrating on the total.

The Astros were picked by many to dominate their division, but they lost their ace Justin Verlander for the year and they come into this contest under .500. It's been a combination of many factors I guess...injuries, poor starting pitching and poor production at the plate. Osuna the closer is also out right now.

The Astros were held to only five runs in their previous series vs. the A's.

The Giants weren't picked to do well at all this year, with injuries to several key players and others opting out etc, so no big surprise that they also come into this contest sitting under .500.

But I think both Tyler Anderson of the Giants and Brandon Bielak of the Astros have been nice early surprises in the rotation for their teams.

Anderson is 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA, but he enters off a great road start at Coors Field of all places, allowing just three hits over five scoreless innings of work. With Drew Smyly out of commision for a while longer, Anderson remains in the rotation for now and I think he'll make the most of his opportunity.

Bielak is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA and he's definitely been a bright spot for this beat up Astros pitching staff. The rookie is going to be given a shot at a starting spot in the rotation and really, one more decent outing here vs. this on again off again Giants hitting line-up and he'll likely cement that position.

I'm a situational capper at heart and this one sets up great as "duel" in my opinion. Two struggling line-ups vs. two hungry and red hot pitchers = UNDER in my opinion.
